Support the Glengarry Pipe Band

The Glengarry Pipe Band has proudly acted as a musical ambassador for our community since 1961. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the incredible generosity of our community, sponsors, friends, and family to keep our Scottish heritage alive and sounding bright.

Your financial support directly enables us to purchase instruments, maintain our uniforms and equipment, and rent practice facilities.

Breaking Down the Costs

Equipping a competitive pipe band is an extraordinarily expensive endeavour. We provide all of the reeds, chanters, drums, and uniforms for our playing members. With over 100 playing members in the organization, this adds up quickly!

To give you an idea of what it costs to outfit a single player:

• Highland Uniform: A full uniform (including our custom Glengarry Highland Games tartan kilt, vest, sporran, flashes, and glengarry cap badge) costs over $2,000 per member.
• Snare Drums: A professional-grade pipe band snare drum costs $1,300.
• Tenor & Bass Drums: Flourishing tenor drums cost $1,100 each, and a bass drum costs upwards of $1,800. This does not include the heads!
• Bagpipe Maintenance: While pipers purchase their own bagpipes, the band provides chanters, bag covers, and reeds at a cost of roughly $300 per piper every few seasons.

Our Free Youth Program

We believe that financial barriers should never actively prevent a child from experiencing the incredible community and education of a pipe band.

Along with our graded bands, our Glengarry Juvenile Pipe Band program is 100% free to join.

We provide world-class tuition, practice instruments, and a uniform to aspiring musicians in Glengarry aged 18 and under. Your donation directly ensures that the next generation of pipers and drummers have everything they need to succeed and carry on our traditions.

Our Juvenile Band is planning on going to the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland in 2027. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these young musicians and we are working hard to make it a reality. Your support will help them sound their best as they represent Glengarry on the world stage.
